Medical Acupuncture is considered the oldest method of treatment and therapy, that can treat a wide range of diseases and health conditions, either in combination with classical medicine or alone, without leading to negative consequences, or even side effects.

According to international scientific research, as psychotherapy helps people who suffer from anxiety, so does medical acupuncture. This therapeutic technique is performed in our Institute always by specialized physicians, providing fast and long-term results, relieving the patient in a short time after the beginning of treatments.

What is anxiety/stress?

By “anxiety or stress” we mean a more general state of exigency, a nervous reaction of our brain to the pressing everyday life. Difficulty in concentrating as well as severe fatigue, are some of the symptoms that stress can create; Medical Acupuncture treats both very effectively. Let’s not forget that stress is a condition that affects a significant number of the present-day human population; its symptoms should alert us and certainly need to be addressed as soon as they appear.

There is, of course, also the good or creative stress, which makes us adapt to the pressure of everyday life. If, however, we notice that this anxiety persists to a large extent, making us loose our balance and making it difficult for us to adapt to new situations in our lives, then we should understand that this is the so-called pathological anxiety/stress, which should be treated.

Pathological stress is likely to hinder our functionality in the normal flow of everyday life.  When it becomes chronic, is harmful to the individual’s overall health, which is why one must be trained to manage stress. There are various symptoms to indicate the existence of an anxiety disorder.

Which are the symptoms of anxiety?

Stress manifests in various symptoms, such as:

How can Medical Acupuncture help with Stress?

Medical Acupuncture is a valuable method with which stress can be fought against, and cured; it gives us both immediate and long-term results. It’s understandable, that in order to treat stress factors, we also pay attention to the patient’s diet and lifestyle, so that the lost balance returns, and normal life with it.

How’s remedy achieved?

At our Institute, the physicians/acupuncturists follow specific Acupuncture Protocols, and relieve the patient from the very first sessions. They achieve this by placing ultra-thin needles in specific parts of the body, after taking the patient’s history, and evaluating his clinical picture.

At the first contact with the doctor, it’s of extreme importance for the patient to provide his detailed medical history; the patient should also be willing to talk about any situation and condition that affects his psychology, and mental -therefore also physical – health and wellbeing.

By following a specific session schedule, the number of which is discussed at the first meeting, most of the symptoms of anxiety are relieved, and become manageable. The patient becomes conscious of the difference very soon since, as he returns to his activities, he feels overall better. The symptoms of his anxiety begin to subside from the very first acupuncture sessions.
